Spousal love involves genuinely loving your spouse the way they are and being there for them at all times. Helping them to overcome their flaws and encouraging them to be at their best.
Spouses serve as a reflection tool to each other, a mirror through which they see themselves. Because they have been around each other the best, they understood each other strengths and weaknesses and are in the best position to encourage and correct each other. They support and spruce each other up.
Spousal love protects. Spouses protect each other reputations. A loving husband won't speak ill of his wife before his friends and family nor will a virtuous wife make her husband a topic for discussion in the midst her friends. They speak good about each other and look out for each other.
Spousal love is not suspicious. When you truly love your spouse you have got to trust them. Love doesn't suspect evil, it does not imagine evil of others neither does it keep malice. Marriage is no contest so never keep a score. You are both placed on the same team to win and complement each other not to compete.
True love for your spouse prevents you from giving up on them so easily no matter the storm that comes your way. It helps you to keep the fight on and keep hope alive. For love always find a way and is long suffering. Love bears all things, believes all things, hope all things and endures all things.
