One of the requirements for achieving success in life is our ability to dream. If we can't think/dream or visualize it then we wouldn't know what we are to act on.
It's good to dream and fantasize, to dream big dreams, but dreaming without acting on them will get us no where You can dream all day if you want but if you refused to get up and act on the dream, soon the dream will fade away and you will forget about it.
Achieving your goals in life isn't a walk in the park. It takes time, hardwork, staying focus and to keep on keeping at it until it's done. Being successful/achieving what you set out for yourself doesn't depend on what you feel, it depends more on what you are to do and your willingness to work at it.
On your journey to achieving your goals, you are bound to come across obstacles or roadblocks of some sort. Your ability to overcome these obstacles or clear these roadblocks out of your way will determine how fast you are able to achieve your goals or get to your destination. And the goodnews is, you have the ability to overcome any obstacle on your path if you desire that goal intensely enough.
The primary obstacles that usually limit us on our journey to acheive our goals are usually mental. They are within us rather than within the situation around us. This includes, fear and self doubt.
FEAR
Most times, the moment we think about our goals, fear sets in and overwhelmed us. Majority of people at this stage back out and allow fear to take over. They simply quit. The fear of failure, poverty, loss, embarrassment, rejection holds people back from even trying.
SELF DOUBT
The second mental obstacle that limits us on our way to fulfilling our goals closely aligned to fear is self doubt. The moment we start to think about our goals, we begin to doubt our ability to accomplish such goals. We start to compare ourselves unfavourably to others and think that others are somehow better, smarter and more competent than we are. We feel inadequate and inferior to challenges of achieving the goals. The best way to overcome fear and self doubt is to identify what you are afraid of and the reasons for the self doubt and then face it! Get the knowledge and skills that are needed, gather all information you can get on the subject and act. Take action. Action is an excellent antidote for fear. Inaction multiplies and magnifies our fear and anxiety.
Do the thing that has been causing you all the anxiety and worry. Stop thinking about doing it, this causes more worries and increase the tension, just do it...........make that phone call, write that letter, close that deal. Do whatever is needed to be done and do it now, stop procrastinating.
No matter what the result of your
actions are, the very fact that you did what you were afraid to do will begin to set you free from bondage of fear. Your confidence will begin to grow and you will feel like a new person.
So when you approach these problems or roadblocks on your way to your goal, when fear and doubt set in, when things start to get rough and it seem there is no way you are going to make it, do not quit! Don't give up and turn back. If you fail, pick yourself up and try again and again and again until you finally win, until the problems are solved, until the roadblocks are removed and then you can continue on your journey smoothly to your destination. Push yourself, drive yourself, motivate yourself to do whatever you have to do but don't quit, don't be a failure. People failed because they quit not because they kept trying.
No matter what you are or what you have been through, you have got potentials. No matter how your start is, you can always accomplish great things. Don't doubt yourself. Don't knock yourself down. Overcome your fears. You can do it. You have got a winner in you, let it out!
Get in the race and run. Give it all you can. Stop wishing and start doing. The light is green.........GO!
